Dubai Fact-File Part 7:
Business Owner Welfare and Lifestyle
7.4 Dubai Individual Business Healthcare
Dubai nationals and foreigners living and
working in Dubai receive state medical care, and there is
no requirement to make contributions from income. A health
card must be obtained, however. Applications can be obtained
from clinics, or from the Ministry of Health, and must be
submitted with passport photos, passport (and copies thereof),
the appropriate fee, and a copy of the visa.
However, the Dubai government is looking to make companies
provide medical insurance schemes for their foreign employees
to ease the burden on the state health care system.
Despite the relatively high standard of state-financed healthcare
in Dubai, however, a lot of expatriate residents opt for private
healthcare; if this is under consideration, then an individual
health insurance policy comes highly recommended.
