1.4 Singapore Individual Business Licensing
Licensing of individual business activity
Licences are required for the majority
of businesses in Singapore, including for various activities
undertaken in the financial services, food and beverage, hotel
and accommodation, manufacturing, sports and recreation, entertainment,
and import/export sectors.
There are various different types of licence, including occupational
licences (required by doctors, legal professionals, traders,
accountants and pilots, among other professions), compulsory
business licences (required by childcare and educational establishments,
distributors of alcohol or tobacco, and travel agents, among
other business types), and business activity licences, which
are required for certain types of business activity (export,
certain types of advertising, etc).

Business Licensing Service, which provides further information
on the types of licence, and the costs and procedures involved.
